GIULIO ROSSI opera bass original MISHKIN photo was Luisa Tetrazzini's boyfriend

Scarce original 6" x 8" photograph of the Italian bass by Mishkin.  Matte, double-weight sepia image.
Rossi was a one time boyfriend of Luisa Tetrazzini and they toured the world for awhile as husband and wife though they never married.  He sung at the MET from 1908-1919 singing both 1st and 2nd bass parts, though in Europe he was purely first ranked.  There is a story that he was singing as a boy soprano in the Sistine Chapel Choir and while horsing around one day fell into a canal.  He nearly drowned and after being rescued, his voice went from soprano to bass.
