    De Reszke (1850-1925) was the greatest Polish tenor of his generation and one of the truly stentorian tenors of the late 19th Century. Reigning  the opera stages from his debut in 1874 to his retirement in 1904 a year after first hearing Caruso! He retired to Nice and ran a highly successful vocal school.
